My messy Room

I woke up this morning

frightened as can be.

I've lost something in my room

And what I've lost is me!!

I cried out "someone help me please"

But the reply was my worst fear,

through all the garbage and the junk

they simply could not hear.

Standing there on my bed

I could not see my floor,

The clothes piled up the wall

and were covering my door

Brown bananas, rotten apples

wads of sticky gum,

I'm ashamed, but I'll admit to you

that I'm a lazy bum.....

You see, I could have cleaned my room

when my mother told me to.

But I just shrugged and went outside,

so much funner things to do.

Now smelly food and garbage bags

are stacked against the wall,

pushing boxes filled with junk

out into the hall!

I'm afraid to close my eyes at night

I'm scared to even blink.

For I'm stuck in my room,

Like a clog stuck in a sink.

I had a friend come over once

But I've lost her in the mess.

I'm afraid my messy room,

has swallowed up my guest.

Sometimes I miss my family

so through the walls I yell.

But I think they all moved away....

they couldn't stand the smell.

I'm telling you this story

so you can learn from it.

If you love your family and your friends

don't leave your room a pit.

Fold your clothes and make your bed.

Do it every single day.

So everyone you know doesn't have to go away.

Wash your windows and your walls

than spray a sweet perfume.

And promise me my children.....

NEVER have a messy room.
