imaginations

I sat on my bed this morning watching my children. They woke up earlier than the robin outside. As usual. We stayed in our room as to not wake grandma and grandpa. So- as I drank my coffee and dreamed of sleeping I watched them be-bop around the room. Linkon with his trucks. Four or five of them, vrooming around, making little noises or screeching and honking. When did he learn those? And than theres Purdee. My little mini me when it comes to her imagination. I love watching her. Listening. 45 minutes yesterday she played loudly and with delight with a flip flop, a rubber snake and two wash cloths. Dont feel bad for her when you read that...she does have toys. Tons. But she has more fun with the boxes they come in. This morning she turned her big old barn into a jail and had every tiny toy she owned, packed in there. I kept hearing her say "let my people go" lol. And she was dead serious. Those are my favorite moments of being a mother. Either that or when Linkon crawls into bed and snuggles into my neck. His little breaths. Purdee getting mad because Link is hogging me. We laugh and sing and wrestle. Reminds me of growing up. Mom would always come into the room singing, "good morning to you." With her perfect mom voice. I try to sing it to my kids and my daughter asks me to stop singing. :-) Ah-well.
My daughter just caught a moth. SO exciting!! Who knew I would have a little boy who loves hugging and anything soft and tender and a daughter who loves adventure, mud, bugs and frogs. Could any mother be more in love?
Im also in love with my nieces and nephews. Sarah and Mikes girls. Three little balls of energy and spirit. Each one so different. Ivy has the personality of a diva and a comedian all in one. Libby is weird. In every sense of the word, weird. But in such a wonderful way. She'll come walking in with her polka dotted leggings, stripped shirt and cape or princess dress over it all. She reminds me of pippy long stocking. And through it all she wears her sweet goofy smile and crazy hair. Little dimples brightening her already bright face. Than Lucy. Never have I seen any child more pink and be-jeweled. She loves anything glittery. Any shade of pink is good and you can never wear to much at the same time.
I miss them. I think I will head over there now. I havent hugged them since saturday.
Happy moments.
