Elijah

So this morning after I read my day text, I was reading a magazine. Theres the article in the July 1st mag called "He took comfort in His God" Everybody must read it. It was so wonderful my heart welled up as I read it. A few days ago a friend and I were talking about the great tribulation and what we can expect. She stated she was afraid. I agreed. After all, we all have our moments. But after reading this article there is no fear. Not a trace of it. Here Elijah had the wicked queen Jezebel after him. She had killed so many of his fellow prophets and Elijah thought he was completely alone. He ran for his life and was so low in spirits that he wished for death. Can you imagine? This man of such faith, so over come by fear. The article stated that if we want to maintain our courage, we cant dwell on the things that frighten us. We must keep our focus on Jehovah, the source of our courage and strength. Elijah ran for his life and was in the wilderness alone and depressed. (never a good combination!) He poured out his heart to Jehovah. I did find it encouraging that a man like this even found himself down. Look at the world we live in today - its no wonder so many of us get down from time to time. Or even severely depressed. But we can be like elijah and pour out our heart to God.
I loved that Jehovah sent an angle to Elijah and the angel fed him. Let him continue sleeping and than fed him again. Jehovah knew exactly what Elijah needed. No those meals didnt take his problems away but they sustained him. And after Elijah came to Mt. Horeb he was still down, so again he prayed to Jehovah. And Jehovah asked "What is your business here" But He posed the question in such a kind way that Elijah took it for what it was, an invitation to pour out his feelings. Can you imagine such a loving God, wanting know? Asking us to pour out our feelings to him. He wants to know what is inside each an every one of us. And he was so kind to Elijah. Elijah told Jehovah everything he was dealing with. He wasnt ashamed of his weakness or his imperfections. What a brilliant example. And Jehovah put on a miraculous display of His infinite power for elijah. And than do you know what Jehovah did afterwards? He again in a calm low voice invited Elijah to express himself. Can you imagine? The concern Jehovah had and the understanding of what Elijah was going through. It makes me awestruck. The article reminded me of Jehovahs limitless power to help us. And that no matter what we face in the future, we have Jehovahs backing. But so much more than that. We have his love. His love for you, for me. Can you imagine any ruler in this world being even a tiny bit concerned for one of its people? Jehovah could have just displayed his power to Elijah and said, "get over your fear, you know Im here"..... but he didnt, Think of the comfort Elijah was given.
Sorry. I love the truth so much. I love reading articles like this they get me so excited. So overcome with love. How blessed we all are to be apart of Jehovahs organization. To be at the fore-front of this work. And to have Jehovah limitless power behind us.
